Apriums are a hybrid stone fruit that combines 75% apricot and 25% plum, creating a unique flavor profile. These small, round fruits measure about 5 to 6 centimeters in diameter and feature vibrant yellow-orange skin with a light coat of fuzz, sometimes developing red-blushed tones. The juicy, firm golden flesh offers a predominantly sweet apricot flavor with hints of raspberry and plum, and very little acidity. The flesh does not cling to the central brown seed.

Developed in the late 1980s by Floyd Zaiger of Zaiger Genetics in Modesto, California, apriums thrive in warm climates with dry summers. This 3-pound package contains Product of USA No. 1 Grade apriums, typically available from late spring through summer. They are ideal for eating fresh but also work well in jams, sauces, sorbets, barbecue sauces, salads, and baked desserts. Apriums pair beautifully with soft cheeses, nuts, honey, lavender, citrus, and vanilla.

Nutrition per 100g: approximately 47 calories, 1.2g protein, 11g carbohydrates, 1.8g fiber, and less than 1g fat. Rich in vitamin A for eye health and immune function, vitamin C for cellular protection and collagen production, and antioxidants lutein and zeaxanthin which support long-term eye health and protect against blue light damage. Ripen at room temperature and refrigerate for up to five days once ready to eat.
