Monteabellón '5 Meses' is a 100% Tempranillo red wine from the Ribera del Duero DO in Castilla y León, northern Spain. Produced by Bodegas Monteabellón, the wine takes its name from its aging regimen: five months in a combination of French and American oak barrels. The grapes are sourced from the winery's youngest vineyards near the Duero River, grown in sandy-loam soils with slight gravel content that contribute to the wine's fresh, vibrant character.

In the glass, the wine presents a deep cherry-red color, clean and bright. The nose offers sweet oak aromas of vanilla and licorice layered over ripe black and red fruit. On the palate it is full-bodied yet approachable, with very fruity tannins, good structure, and a balanced, meaty finish with lingering length.
