Domaine Maby La Forcadière is the flagship rosé from a historic, family-run estate in the southern Rhône Valley of France, produced under the prestigious Tavel appellation — France's only appellation dedicated exclusively to rosé wine. Domaine Maby practices organic viticulture on three distinct soil types characteristic of Tavel: rolled pebbles, sand, and slate, each contributing unique mineral character to the final wine.
This rosé is a blend of seven grape varieties led by Grenache noir (55%), Cinsault (20%), Syrah (10%), Mourvèdre (5%), and Grenache blanc (5%), sourced from vines averaging 36 years of age. The wine is vinified entirely in stainless steel vats to preserve freshness and fruit character, with an annual production of approximately 36,000 bottles. It yields approximately 34 hectoliters per hectare.
Light ruby in hue, La Forcadière reveals a powerful and complex nose melding cherry skin, honeycrisp apple, white strawberry, and baked rhubarb, accented by delicate violet potpourri and sweet spices. On the palate, refreshing acidity and persistent minerality lead to a long, light-fruited finish where soft red fruits and brisk acidity give length to a black tea finish. Best served between 10° and 12°C (50–54°F), this wine has an aging potential of 4 to 10 years, making it equally enjoyable young or worth cellaring.
Critically acclaimed with scores of 93 points from Wine Enthusiast, 93 points from Decanter (2024 vintage), 92 points from Robert Parker (2022 vintage), 90 points from Wine Spectator, and 90 points from Jeb Dunnuck.
