The Yamazaki 25 Year Single Malt Whisky is a 750ml, 43% ABV expression produced at the Yamazaki Distillery in Kyoto, Japan — the country's oldest malt whisky distillery, founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii at the foot of Mount Tennozan. Distilled from 100% malted barley, this ultra-premium whisky is aged for a quarter century in a curated selection of American oak, Spanish ex-sherry casks, and exceptionally rare Japanese Mizunara oak, which represents less than 1% of Suntory's barrel inventory and requires decades of maturation to fully express its signature sandalwood and incense character.

The aroma opens with dried dark fruits — plum, fig, and blackberry — leading into deep chocolate, roasted coffee, and aged oak, with lingering cinnamon, nutmeg, and incense from the Mizunara. On the palate, ripe blackberries, dates, and dark chocolate layer over rich molasses and espresso, while the ex-sherry casks contribute strawberry jam, red wine tannins, and liquorice. The Mizunara oak adds sandalwood, persimmon, and gentle ginger spice, building to a peak of tobacco, leather, and deep woody complexity. The finish is exceptionally long and elegant, tapering through dark fruit sweetness, gentle smokiness, and waves of aged wood.

Named Supreme Champion Spirit at the 2023 International Spirits Challenge — the highest honor across all spirit categories — and recognized as World's Best Single Malt at the 2012 World Whiskies Awards, Yamazaki 25 is among the most critically acclaimed and collectible whiskies produced anywhere in the world.
