Viña Pomal Reserva is a premium Spanish red wine from the prestigious Rioja DOCa appellation, crafted by Bodegas Bilbaínas. Made with 100% Tempranillo grapes sourced from the historic Viña Pomal estate in Rioja Alta, this wine exemplifies traditional Rioja winemaking at its finest.

The wine undergoes a moderately long maceration after destemming and crushing, followed by alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. It is then aged for 18 months in American oak barrels (20% new), with three rackings performed during this time to naturally clarify the wine. After barrel aging, the wine rests in bottle for at least two years before release.

This Reserva presents a brilliant ruby color with subtle russet hues. The nose offers intense aromas of red fruit intertwined with hints of tobacco, truffle, vanilla, hazelnuts, chocolate, and dusty spices. On the palate, it delivers flavors of black cherry, plum, and mocha notes with a supple, smooth texture, tighter tannins, refreshing acidity, and a nice touch of oak leading to an impressively long finish. Made with organic grapes, the wine is also vegan-friendly.

Best enjoyed with meat or vegetable rice dishes, moderately strong cheeses, lamb, duck, or blue fish. Recommended to decant before serving at 16-18°C (61-64°F). Alcohol content is 14% ABV.
