This exceptional expression is initially matured in traditional American bourbon and Spanish sherry casks, then finished for 12 months in French oak Zinfandel wine casks from the prestigious Château Montelena winery in Napa Valley, California. This collaboration between Midleton Distillery and Mitchell & Son represents the first single pot still Irish whiskey to be finished in Zinfandel wine casks.

The whiskey is crafted from a blend of malted and unmalted barley, distilled in traditional copper pot stills, which gives it the characteristic spicy and full-bodied flavor profile associated with Irish pot still whiskeys. The Zinfandel cask finish adds a unique dimension, contributing notes of pomegranate, cranberry, and maraschino cherry, along with a distinctive dry character that complements the whiskey's natural sweetness.

On the nose, crisp oak combines with soft vanilla, white chocolate, and marshmallow, balanced with signature Green Spot red apples and ripe pears, enhanced by the wine cask's contribution of pomegranate, cranberries, and maraschino cherries.
