Benromach 50 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is an extraordinarily rare expression from the Benromach Distillery in Speyside, Scotland. Distilled in December 1972 and matured for five decades in sherry casks, this limited release consists of only 248 bottles worldwide, released in September 2024. It is bottled at cask strength, making it one of the most coveted and prestigious single malt Scotch whiskies from the Speyside region.

On the nose, this whisky presents a mature and complex character with notes of leather and gentle smoke, dark chocolate, clove, peppercorn, aged balsamic vinegar, and dried orange. The palate is supple and oily with layers of fruitcake, baked orange, clove, peppercorn, red velvet cake, red currant, preserved strawberries, and woodsmoke. The finish is long and warming, befitting a whisky of this extraordinary age and rarity.

Benromach Distillery is one of the smallest distilleries in Speyside, owned and operated by Gordon & MacPhail. It is renowned for its traditional, handcrafted approach to whisky making using floor maltings and traditional copper pot stills.
