Fulcrum Dry Gewurztraminer is a California white wine produced by Fulcrum Wines, a small Sonoma-based winery founded in 2005 by winemaker David Rossi. This 750ML bottle is sourced exclusively from the Ferrington Vineyard in Anderson Valley, Mendocino County — a historic 70-acre estate originally planted in the 1970s and regarded as one of the premier vineyard sites in the appellation. Anderson Valley's cool Pacific-influenced climate, marked by morning fog and extended hang time, makes it one of California's finest regions for growing aromatic white varieties.
The wine is fermented to complete dryness in stainless steel with no oak influence, preserving the grape's natural aromatics. Rossi employs a Süsse Reserve technique — reserving a small portion of unfermented juice at pressing, fermenting the remainder to complete dryness, then blending the reserved juice back in shortly before bottling — resulting in a wine that is fully dry without bitterness. Production is intentionally small, typically around 300 cases per vintage.
On the nose, the wine opens with expressive aromas of rose petals and lychee fruit alongside enticing spice notes. The palate delivers rich flavors of Anjou pear and pink grapefruit with a refreshing note of fresh ginger, supported by a silky texture and balanced acidity. The finish is long and dry. The wine pairs especially well with Thai and Indian cuisine, ginger-forward dishes, Asian five-spice preparations, and other boldly seasoned foods.
