The Casio ProTrek PRT-B50-1 is a rugged outdoor sports watch engineered for hikers, climbers, and adventure enthusiasts. Built around a Quad Sensor system, it integrates a digital compass, altimeter/barometer, thermometer, and step counter into a compact 57.5 × 50.8 × 15.8mm resin case that weighs just 64 grams. The mineral glass crystal is protected by a direction bezel with a metal bearing indicator, and the watch is rated for 100-meter water resistance and low-temperature operation down to -10°C (14°F).

Bluetooth connectivity pairs the watch with the PRO TREK Connected smartphone app, which automatically records altitude data, calorie burn calculations (factoring both step count and elevation changes), and GPS-acquired route information. The watch can receive corrected altitude readings from the smartphone's GPS and acquire latitude/longitude data to calculate precise local sunrise and sunset times. App pairing also enables Auto Time Adjust worldwide and allows users to customize which watch modes appear and in which order.

The urethane band features a 3D texture to prevent the band ring from slipping, and reinforced button guards protect against accidental operation. Battery life is approximately 2 years on a CR2025 cell.
