Beaux Freres Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is a benchmark Oregon red wine from the renowned Beaux Freres vineyard in the Ribbon Ridge AVA of Yamhill County. Founded in 1987 by Michael Etzel and Robert M. Parker Jr. (brothers-in-law), the winery is situated on an 86-acre farm with 30 acres of steep hillside vines featuring south and southwest exposure ideal for Pinot Noir.
This Willamette Valley cuvée is crafted from 100% Pinot Noir sourced from multiple premier vineyards across the valley, fermented with indigenous yeast in small vats for 18-20 days and aged 10 months in 40% new French oak barrels. The wine is unfined and unfiltered. It typically shows expressive aromas of violet, raspberry, pomegranate, and cranberry, with flavors of guava, white pepper, and spiced tea building toward polished, medium-grained tannins. Production is limited to approximately 3,780 cases per vintage.
Critically acclaimed, this wine has received scores of 94-95 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, Wine Spectator, and James Suckling. ABV approximately 12.9%. Best enjoyed through 2032-2033. Typical retail value $70-$83 per bottle.
