Novolin N (insulin isophane human) is an intermediate-acting human insulin produced by Novo Nordisk through recombinant DNA technology using baker's yeast. This 10mL multiple-dose vial contains 100 units/mL (U-100) of insulin isophane human suspension (NPH) for subcutaneous injection. It is indicated to improve glycemic control in adults and pediatric patients with diabetes mellitus.

The sterile, white and cloudy suspension is administered subcutaneously in the abdominal wall, thigh, upper arm, or buttocks, with injection sites rotated within the same region to reduce the risk of lipodystrophy. Inactive ingredients include dibasic sodium phosphate, glycerin, metacresol, phenol, protamine sulfate, zinc, and water for injection, with hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide added to adjust pH.

Unopened vials should be refrigerated at 36-46°F (2-8°C) until the expiration date, or stored at room temperature (up to 77°F/25°C) for up to 42 days. Once opened, vials should be kept at room temperature and discarded after 42 days. Novolin N is available over the counter at Costco pharmacy locations without a prescription.
