Jean-Luc Colombo "Les Abeilles" Blanc is a Côtes du Rhône AOC white wine from the southern Rhône Valley of France. "Les Abeilles" (The Bees) is named for the bees that inhabit the vineyards — a testament to the estate's commitment to pesticide-free farming. The Colombo family, life-long beekeepers, partnered with the Taub Family Selections to launch the Bee Helpful Program: a portion of every bottle sold supports UC Davis Department of Entomology research aimed at restoring healthy honey bee colonies.

The wine is a blend of approximately 80% Clairette and 20% Roussanne. Grapes are hand-picked and fermented at low temperature in stainless steel tanks. The Clairette is aged in tank while the Roussanne matures for six months in two- to five-year-old oak barrels, lending texture without overwhelming oak character. The result is a light straw-colored wine with intense floral aromas, scents of peach and melon, and herbal and mineral notes. On the palate it is crisp, complex, and well-balanced with flavors of stone fruit, citrus, and pear. Alcohol is 13% ABV.

Jean-Luc Colombo and his wife Anne are recipients of France's highest civilian honor, the French Legion of Honor, recognized for their lifetime contributions to Rhône Valley winemaking. The wine pairs well with seafood including sushi, poultry, and vegetarian dishes.
