Château Pontet-Canet 2017 is a prestigious Fifth Growth estate from Pauillac, Bordeaux, representing one of the Left Bank's most acclaimed producers. This wine showcases the classic Pauillac style with exceptional depth and elegance.

Composed of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot, the medium to deep garnet-purple colored wine offers beautifully fragrant notes of rosehip tea, lilacs, cinnamon stick, cloves, dried leaves and underbrush with a core of kirsch, raspberry coulis, warm plums and red and black currants plus a waft of pencil shavings. The palate is medium-bodied, refreshing, minerally and wonderfully elegant with approachable plush tannins and a long fragrant finish. Aging took place in 50% new French oak barrels, 15% in second-fill barrels, and 35% in amphorae for 16 months, with much of the amphora material sourced from the estate's own soil.

Alcohol by volume: 13.0%. This wine is suitable for cellaring and drinking from 2029-2055, with 20-25 years of prime drinking potential.
