Gulf Pacific Antarctic Queen Wild Caught Fish is a premium frozen fillet of Chilean Hake (Merluccius Australis), sourced from the pristine, crystal-clear southern waters of Patagonia. A deep-sea, cold-water fish caught at depths of 800 to 1,000 meters using artisanal line-and-hook methods, it is prized for its brilliant white flesh, large succulent flake, and delicate, buttery flavor with a gentle sweetness reminiscent of halibut and Chilean sea bass. It is often called the queen of the hake family for its superior appearance and flavor.
Each 2-pound (907g) package contains 6 to 7 individually portioned fillets, each approximately 5.2 ounces. The fishery is MSC certified for sustainability, with an 11-month catching season that pauses in November to protect the spawning population. The fish is processed as a Frozen-at-Sea product to lock in peak freshness. Fillets can be prepared by pan-sautéing directly from frozen in an unoiled non-stick pan over medium-high heat for 2 to 3 minutes per side, oven baking, or char-grilling on aluminum foil. The skin can be grilled or sautéed crispy for added texture. Internal temperature should reach 145°F. To thaw, place the vacuum-sealed bag in the refrigerator overnight or submerge under cold water for 12 to 15 minutes.
