Turonia Albariño by Quinta de Couselo is a celebrated single-variety white wine from the O Rosal sub-zone of Rías Baixas, Galicia, Spain. Made from a blend of two estate and leased vineyard parcels — "Da Quinta" and "Sobral" — grown on granite and shale soils, the wine is sourced from Albariño vines over 30 years old. Each 750 ml bottle is warehouse-packed in cases of twelve.
Fermented in stainless steel to preserve freshness and fruit character, the wine is then aged on fine lees for four months, adding texture and roundness. It opens with aromas of pineapple, lemon zest, fresh herbs, and a distinct flinty minerality, leading to flavors of grapefruit, nectarine, peach, briny seashells, and a hint of kelp. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity and a long, saline-tinged finish. It pairs beautifully with shellfish, crab, lobster, and white fish.
The Turonia Albariño consistently earns scores above 90 points from major critics including Wine Enthusiast, Wine Spectator, Guia Peñin, and Robert Parker. The 2021 vintage was ranked #57 on Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of 2023.
