Sinegal Estate Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a premium wine crafted from grapes grown on the historic 30-acre Inglewood estate in St. Helena, first planted with vines in 1881. The 2021 vintage showcases a blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 3% Malbec, and 2% Merlot, aged for 20 months in 80% new French oak barrels.
The wine displays vibrant aromatics of dark cherry, mocha, sweet tobacco, blackberry, boysenberry, plum, cassis, and mulberry, complemented by notes of dark olive, cedar, pipe tobacco, mint, and violets. On the palate, it offers elegant and refined flavors of blackberry, Santa Rosa plum, dark cherry, and boysenberry with silky, well-tumbled tannins that are remarkably approachable. The finish lingers with dark cocoa, dried herbs including smoked sage, dark pepper, tobacco, and a woodsy spice.
Founded in 2013 by David and James Sinegal (co-founder and former CEO of Costco), the estate features state-of-the-art winemaking facilities including small-lot tanks with programmable pumps for precise temperature control and automated pump-overs. The vineyard is micromanaged with selective picking (up to 30 times per season) and advanced irrigation technology. The estate includes some of the oldest Cabernet Franc vines in Napa Valley at over 30 years old. This wine is drinking beautifully now and will continue to improve over the next 10-12 years. Pairs well with red meats, cheese, and fish.
