Williams Selyem Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is a highly regarded appellation-blend Pinot Noir from one of California's most celebrated cult wineries, sold in a case of 12 bottles at 750ml each.
The wine is brooding and darker in profile, with aromas of plum, dried herbs, and savory undertones. On the palate, it delivers saturated plum and brambly fruit flavors supported by firm, well-integrated tannins. A refreshing acidity carries through to a finish with subtle forest floor notes. Critics have awarded recent vintages scores of 93 points from Wine Spectator and 95 points (Cellar Selection) from Wine Enthusiast. The wine is aged approximately 11 months in a combination of new and one-year-old French oak barrels, with an alcohol content of approximately 13.5%.
Williams Selyem was founded in 1981 by Burt Williams and Ed Selyem in Sonoma County and became one of California's first cult wineries, known for small-production, terroir-driven Pinot Noir. The Sonoma Coast bottling represents their regional expression, with an optimal drinking window typically spanning several years from vintage date.
