Château Lespault-Martillac Blanc is a rare, small-production white Bordeaux from the prestigious Pessac-Léognan appellation in Graves, Bordeaux, France. The estate has been managed since 2009 under a long-term lease by Olivier Bernard of Domaine de Chevalier, lending this wine exceptional winemaking pedigree. Only approximately 250 cases of the white wine are produced per year from a single hectare of vines averaging 30 years old, planted on clay-gravel soils.
The blend is composed of approximately 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Sémillon. After harvest, grapes are processed with no skin contact using a pneumatic press, then fermented entirely in French oak barrels. The wine is aged on fine lees with regular battonage (lees stirring) for approximately 10 months before bottling. Malolactic fermentation is deliberately avoided to preserve freshness and bright acidity. The estate follows certified biodynamic farming practices.
On the palate, this wine is fruity, fresh, and expressive of its Pessac-Léognan terroir, offering notes of sweet yellow and orange citrus, white peach, and honeysuckle with a medium to full body. Critics consistently rate it in the 89–93 point range across recent vintages.
