Inscription King Estate Pinot Noir is a classic Oregon Pinot Noir sourced from multiple vineyards throughout the prestigious Willamette Valley AVA, one of the world's most acclaimed growing regions for the variety. This 750ml bottle carries 13.5% alcohol by volume and is sold in cases of 12.
In the glass, the wine presents a medium to deep ruby color with vibrant aromas of red fruit, raspberry, black plum, currant, violet, orange peel, cedar, and forest floor. On the palate, flavors of black cherry, plum, raspberry, and bramble are joined by subtle cedar, tobacco, and leather notes. The wine offers a superb mouthfeel with medium body, smooth tannins, balanced acidity, and a mouth-coating, lasting finish.
Each lot is fermented in small batches with up to 20% whole cluster inclusion. Stainless steel fermentation with daily punch downs and pump overs is followed by malolactic fermentation. For further concentration of flavor and color, 7% of juice is bled off using the Saignée method. The wine is then barrel-aged for eight months in French oak, resulting in a bold yet approachable style with full fruit and spicy, toasty oak on the finish.
Rated 91 points by CostcoWineBlog and named a Costco Wine Top Pick, this Inscription Pinot Noir represents exceptional value from King Estate, a family winery whose wines have been a Costco staple for many years.
