Cocchi Vermouth di Torino 'Storico' is a premium Italian sweet vermouth produced in Asti, Piemonte since 1891. It is the last remaining example of appellation Vermouth di Torino to comply with all of the classical requirements, using estate Moscato as the wine base with vibrant, spicy botanicals including cocoa, citrus, ginger, and rhubarb. At 16% ABV, it is dynamic and powerful without being weighty, avoiding the heavy sheen of vanilla or caramel found in other popular Italian vermouths.
Founded by Giulio Cocchi, a young pastry chef from Florence who relocated to Asti, the company has been owned and operated by the Bava family since 1978. Cocchi was integral in reviving the forgotten Vermouth di Torino category and establishing the Alta Langa DOCG for traditional Piemontese spumante.
This vermouth is a classic choice for a Manhattan, Martinez, Americano, or Palmetto cocktail, and pairs exceptionally well with spicy whiskeys of all proof levels. The fruity Moscato grape base is counterbalanced by vegetal components, making it equally enjoyable served simply over ice with a twist or alongside a cheese-and-charcuterie board. Once opened, store refrigerated and consume within 2 to 3 weeks. Unopened, it keeps 0 to 2 years stored vertically at 50 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit.
