Head Full of Fresh Hops is a seasonal Fresh Hop Hazy IPA brewed by Fremont Brewing Company in Seattle, WA, sold at Costco in a 4-pack of 16oz cans. This limited-edition beer is one of Fremont's most celebrated annual releases, marking the peak of the Pacific Northwest hop harvest season.
The beer is built on a grain bill of 2-Row Pale, White Wheat, Wheat Flakes, Malted Oats, Rolled Oats, and Carapils malt. Select fresh hops — including Krush, Mosaic Cryo FRESH, Mosaic, and Idaho 7 Cryo — are harvested in Yakima's hop fields and loaded into the brew kettle within 24 hours of harvest. This farm-to-kettle speed preserves the vibrant, grassy aromatics that distinguish fresh hop beer from traditionally dry-hopped ales.
At 6.8% ABV with a hazy dark yellow color, the aroma opens with layers of mango, pineapple, papaya, grapefruit, and orange, rounded out by grassy, herbaceous, and resinous pine notes with a faint dank edge. The flavor is gently sweet with moderate bitterness and a lingering hoppy bite. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation, it finishes warming and mouthwatering. This is a seasonal, limited release best consumed as fresh as possible after purchase.
