Ohishi Port Cask Whisky is a Japanese rice whisky crafted at Oishi Shuzo distillery, founded in 1872 in Mizukami, Kumamoto Prefecture, near the pure waters of the Kuma River. The distillery draws on six generations of expertise, using a unique mash bill of Gohyakumanishi and mochi rice — with the Gohyakumanishi rice grown using koi fish as a natural, chemical-free method of weed control.

The whisky is aged in carefully selected port casks, which impart rich, fruity notes and a velvety texture. On the nose, ripe red berries — particularly cherries and plums — intertwine with dark chocolate, vanilla, caramel, cinnamon, and nutmeg. The palate is silky and smooth, delivering dried fruits such as figs and raisins alongside toffee, honey, and toasted almond, balanced by subtle oak. The finish is long and warming, with lingering spice, earthy undertones, and a pleasant dryness. Bottled at 43.5% ABV.
