Ohishi Islay Cask Finish is a Japanese rice whisky crafted by the Ohishi Distillery, a family-owned operation with six generations of tradition based in Mizukami-mura, Kumamoto Prefecture. The whisky is made using locally sourced rice — including 30% grown on the distillery's own fields — and distilled with pristine water from the Kuma River. It undergoes initial maturation in traditional Japanese casks before finishing in imported Islay Scotch whisky casks, a double maturation process that imparts remarkable depth and complexity. The spirit is sold exclusively in export markets.

On the nose, expect a harmonious blend of peat smoke, rich dried fruits, and floral undertones with hints of brine and coastal seaweed. The palate reveals smoked barley and vanilla alongside tropical fruits and a gentle, honey-forward sweetness with a subtle creaminess.
