Fattoria Poggerino Chianti Classico Riserva "Bugialla" is a distinguished red wine from the Chianti Classico DOCG zone in Tuscany, Italy. Produced by Piero Lanza at the Poggerino estate in Radda in Chianti, this Riserva is crafted entirely from Sangiovese grapes grown in the Bugialla vineyard, one of the coolest parts of the Chianti Classico appellation. The combination of hot days and cold nights allows for slow, even ripening, resulting in ripe tannins and outstanding phenolic maturity.

The wine presents a bright ruby red color with an expressive nose of blackberries, cherries, red currant, leather, licorice, graphite, and tobacco. On the palate it is plush and intense, with superb depth and textural richness — notes of black cherry, plum, espresso, new leather, and spice all come together with excellent structure and energy. Sweet, persistent tannins carry through a long, mineral-tinged finish. Vinous Media awarded this wine 95 points, calling it "a total knock-out," while Wine Spectator awarded it 94 points, praising its purity and balance. Drink now or cellar through 2035.
