Baru Nuts are a unique South American superfood harvested from the Dipteryx alata tree in the Cerrado savannah of Brazil and Bolivia. These dry roasted nuts feature a crispy outer skin full of nutrients and offer a taste similar to a combination of peanuts, cashews, and corn nuts. The simple two-ingredient recipe contains only baru nuts and sea salt, with no oils, additives, or preservatives.
Baru nuts are exceptionally high in plant-based protein and fiber while being relatively low in fat compared to most other nuts. They contain higher total levels of phenolic compounds than Brazil nuts, almonds, cashews, pine nuts, and macadamia nuts, making them a potent source of antioxidants. The nuts are rich in minerals including iron, zinc, potassium, and calcium, as well as vitamin D. Product of Bolivia and Brazil.
