Castello di Camigliano Brunello di Montalcino DOCG is a premium Italian red wine produced from 100% Sangiovese Grosso grapes grown on the southwestern slopes of Montalcino in Tuscany. The estate dates back to the 13th century as a fortified castle and is now managed by the Ghezzi family, who balance tradition with innovation. The vineyards sit on clay and limestone-rich terroir with ideal sun exposure and well-drained soils, and the grapes are organically grown.
This wine opens with a complex bouquet of ripe red berries, violets, and hints of black pepper. On the palate, it exhibits elegant tannins and harmonious balance, with flavors of cherry, orange peel, and an earthy, slightly saline undertone. It is medium-bodied with fresh acidity and a bright, detailed finish.
The 2020 vintage has received critical acclaim, earning 95 points from Wine Spectator, 93 points from James Suckling, and 92 points from Jeb Dunnuck. Pairs well with roasted game, hearty stews, aged cheeses, beef, and venison. Sold in a 750ML bottle.
