Maximin Grünhaus Riesling is a classic German white wine from the historic von Schubert estate in the Ruwer sub-region of the Mosel, located in Mertesdorf near Trier. The estate has been owned by the von Schubert family since 1882 and is today managed by the sixth generation, Maximin von Schubert. Maximin Grünhaus is one of Germany's most celebrated Riesling producers, known for wines of exceptional finesse, minerality, and longevity.
The estate's vineyards — Abtsberg, Herrenberg, and Bruderberg — are planted on steep, south-facing slate slopes above the Ruwer River, producing wines with a signature slate-driven minerality, vibrant acidity, and concentrated fruit character. The Riesling is typically off-dry to slightly sweet with bright notes of white peach, citrus, and fresh herbs, balanced by a racy acidity and lingering mineral finish. These wines are renowned among collectors for their aging potential and ability to develop remarkable complexity over decades.
This 750ML bottle is well-suited as a standalone sipping wine or paired with lighter fare including seafood, soft cheeses, Asian cuisine, and fruit-based desserts.
