The TYPE S 5A Battery Charger and Maintainer (Model AC57881) is a smart, fully automatic battery charger and long-term maintenance solution designed to keep stored vehicles ready to go. It charges and maintains standard lead-acid (wet cell/flooded, SLA, maintenance-free), GEL, AGM, and lithium-ion (LiFePO4) batteries at either 6V or 12V, supporting battery capacities up to 120 Ah. Compatible with cars, classic cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, RVs, UTVs, ATVs, boats, snowmobiles, lawnmowers, and tractors.

An embedded smart microprocessor manages battery charging and maintenance across 9 intelligent charging stages, automatically optimizing charge delivery for battery type and condition. Auto-voltage detection allows the unit to detect and begin charging batteries as low as 0.5V. A dedicated Push Mode charges severely depleted batteries (0.5V–3.75V) at a safe 0.5A until they recover to a usable voltage level, at which point the normal charge mode takes over. Advanced battery recovery mode is designed for 12V lead-acid batteries and can repair and restore damaged, stratified, and sulfated battery cells.

The charger is rated IP65 water-resistant, making it suitable for use in garages and outdoor environments. Safety features include reverse polarity protection, overheat protection, and spark-proof clamps. The unit ships with battery clamps and ring terminals with a standard SAE connector, allowing semi-permanent installation on stored vehicles. Ring terminals include a 10A fuse.
