Piper Sonoma Sparkling Brut Reserve is an elegant and balanced California sparkling wine from Sonoma County, crafted in the classic dry style. A rich cuvée assembled by hand, this wine is thoughtfully chosen from lots of premium fruit selected for optimum structure and the longest aging potential. The blend comprises 45% Pinot Noir, 43% Chardonnay, 12% Pinot Blanc, and 13% Aged Reserve wine.

Produced using Méthode Traditionnelle — the same technique used to craft the finest Champagnes — the wine undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle and is aged on the lees for a minimum of 12 months before disgorgement. A small percentage of older reserve wine is incorporated into the liqueur d'expédition, adding further complexity and texture. The winemaking team sources from more than 20 growers in Sonoma County, many of whom have supplied grapes for over three decades, with sustainable agriculture and integrated pest management practices throughout the vineyards.

On the nose, the wine offers intense aromas of fresh tangerine, pineapple, and pear, followed by toasted hazelnut and butterscotch. On the palate, bright flavors of citrus and crisp green apple give way to layers of mandarin, spice, brioche, and toasted nuts. The wine is medium-bodied with a long, refined finish. Alcohol is 12% by volume. It pairs beautifully with shellfish, crab cakes, sautéed shrimp, sushi, and celebratory occasions.

Piper Sonoma was founded in 1980 by the Marquis d'Aulan family and has nearly forty years of sparkling wine expertise in Sonoma County. The Brut Reserve has earned 96 points from Beverage Dynamics (2024), 95 points Best of Class Gold Medal at the Los Angeles International Wine Competition (2023), and 93 points from Wine Enthusiast (2023).
