The Minnesota Renaissance Festival is the largest Renaissance festival in the United States, with a history spanning more than 50 years. The festival runs every Saturday and Sunday from mid-August through late September, plus Labor Day and a special Festival Friday, with hours from 9 AM to 7 PM each day, rain or shine. The grounds are located in Shakopee, Minnesota, approximately 25 miles southwest of Minneapolis.
The festival features dozens of live entertainment stages with jousting tournaments, fire eaters, belly dancers, comedy shows, magicians, juggling acts, and improv theater. Guests can explore artisan shops selling handcrafted pottery, jewelry, clothing, candles, and weapons, as well as try activities like archery, axe throwing, fencing, an escape room, and a Torture Museum. A petting zoo, elephant and camel rides, Fairy Wing Forest, and Mermaid Cove make it especially popular with families and young children. Dogs are welcome with registration. Themed weekends throughout the season offer additional special programming and discounts.
Turkey legs are a beloved signature food at Renaissance festivals, and the two smoked turkey drumsticks included in this bundle are among the most iconic items at the Minnesota event. The festival grounds also feature an extensive food village with hundreds of options, clearly marked for vegan, gluten-free, and vegetarian diets.
