Rieger's Kansas City Whiskey is an award-winning American whiskey that revives the historic practice of "rectifying" whiskey from the late 1800s. This expression is a blend of straight bourbon whiskey, light corn whiskey, and straight rye whiskey, all aged at least four years, with the addition of a small amount of 15-year-old Oloroso sherry from the Williams & Humbert Bodega in Jerez, Spain. Bottled at 92 proof (46% ABV), this whiskey is well-balanced, smooth, and slightly sweet.

The nose opens with rich aromas of sherry, caramel, butterscotch, berries, and baking spices, followed by a sweet corn whiskey backbone. On the palate, sweet corn whiskey flavors are complemented by the sherry's dried fruits, almonds, honey, oak, and bitter chocolate notes. The finish delivers robust spiciness from the rye component, creating a bittersweet and fruity conclusion.

This whiskey has earned numerous accolades including Best American Whiskey and Double Platinum at the 2023 ASCOT Awards, Gold at the 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, and 92 Points at the 2023 Ultimate Spirits Challenge. It is beautiful when served neat or on the rocks, and works exceptionally well in classic bourbon or rye-based cocktails such as the Horsefeather, Manhattan, Old Fashioned, and Gold Rush. J.
