The Calling Searby Vineyard Chardonnay is a single vineyard-designate white wine from the Russian River Valley appellation of Sonoma County, California. Sourced exclusively from the legendary Searby Vineyard, one of the oldest Chardonnay vineyards in the Russian River Valley, first planted in 1972 by Sonoma wine pioneer Warren Dutton. This historic nearly 10-acre site sits on a gently sloping, west-facing hillside on mineral-rich Goldridge soils and is dry-farmed, relying on the marine influence of the nearby Pacific Ocean and evening fog for moisture.

Crafted by celebrated winemaker James MacPhail, the hand-picked fruit from old-vine Rued clone Chardonnay vines is barrel-fermented using native yeasts and undergoes 100% malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged sur lie for 15 months in 100% French oak (approximately 30% new) before additional bottle aging prior to release. The result is a full-bodied yet structured Chardonnay with an alcohol content around 13.4–14.5%. Tasting notes reveal big, fresh aromatics of passion fruit, honeydew melon, and Bartlett pear, with a palate delivering flavors of pineapple, crushed white rose, honeysuckle, lemon zest, and stone fruits.
