Amador Cellars Red Blend is a full-bodied California red wine from the Shenandoah Valley AVA within Amador County, produced by Amador Cellars, a family-owned and operated winery founded in 2000 by Larry and Linda Long in Plymouth, California. The winery specializes in Mediterranean-style Italian and Rhone varietals well-suited to the Sierra Foothills climate.
This red blend is crafted from varieties including Petite Sirah, Barbera, Aglianico, and Zinfandel. It displays a deep, nearly opaque red color with aromas of dark plum, star anise, ripe berries, vanilla, and cedar. On the palate, expect flavors of late-picked plums, cooked cherries, blackberry, and black cherry with a smooth, full-bodied finish. Tannins are moderate with a firm mouthfeel. The wine is made in an unfined and unfiltered style to preserve varietal character.
A versatile food wine, it pairs well with hearty meat dishes such as roast lamb, pork sausages, BBQ, chili, and pizza. It has earned recognition at regional competitions including the Foothill Wine Fest and the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.
