The Ficus Lyrata, commonly known as the Fiddle Leaf Fig, is one of the most dramatic indoor plants available, featuring large, bold foliage with a thick, almost leathery texture. Planted in a generous 6.5-gallon (24.6-liter) pot with a 14-inch diameter, this bush-form specimen delivers an immediate visual impact and makes a striking statement in any living room, office, or large interior space.
This bushy plant grows with multiple trunks that can be trained or pruned over time to personalize its silhouette. It can reach 8 feet tall or more indoors and its oversized, violin-shaped leaves create visual contrast that more common houseplants simply cannot match. Native to the rainforests of West Africa, Ficus lyrata thrives in warm, bright conditions.
Place in a location that receives bright indirect sunlight for 6 to 8 hours daily, ideally near a south- or east-facing window. Water when the top 1 to 2 inches of soil feel dry, approximately every one to two weeks, adjusting for your environment. This plant prefers temperatures between 60°F and 75°F (16°C to 24°C) and should be kept away from cold drafts and temperatures below 50°F (10°C). Fertilize sparingly once in spring and once in summer with a diluted, balanced fertilizer. Repot every 1 to 2 years as the plant outgrows its container, choosing a slightly larger pot with fresh, well-draining soil.
Not for human or animal consumption. This plant may cause discomfort or illness if ingested, and exposure to its sap may cause skin irritation in sensitive individuals. Grown for ornamental purposes only.
