BenRiach The Smoky Ten is a Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky crafted at the historic BenRiach Distillery in Scotland. In the early 1970s, BenRiach broke convention in Speyside by reviving the 19th-century tradition of distilling peated whisky using Highland peat — a practice rarely seen in the region. This whisky is a marriage of both unpeated and peated spirit, triple cask matured for at least ten years in ex-bourbon barrels, Jamaican rum casks, and toasted virgin oak. Bottled at 46% ABV with natural cask-imparted colour, it delivers sublimely smooth complexity.

On the nose, expect ripe orchard fruit syrup, smoked honey glaze, and oak spice. The palate opens with smoked applewood, honey maple, and spiced pear. The finish is long, sweet, and gently smoky with lingering fruit and toasted oak. The rich Highland peat imparts distinctly sweet rather than aggressive smoky notes, making this an approachable entry point into peated Scotch for those more familiar with fruity, malt-forward styles.
