The Botanist Islay Dry Gin is an artisanal Scottish gin crafted at Bruichladdich Distillery on the remote Isle of Islay. It is the world's first and only Islay Dry Gin, distilled at 46% ABV using 31 different botanicals. The gin features nine classic aromatics including juniper berries, coriander seed, angelica root, orris root, cassia bark, cinnamon bark, liquorice root, lemon peel, and orange peel.

What sets The Botanist apart is its use of 22 hand-foraged wild Islay botanicals that are sustainably harvested from the island's windswept hills, peat bogs, and Atlantic shores. These local botanicals include apple mint, birch leaves, bog myrtle leaves, chamomile, creeping thistle flowers, elderflower, gorse flowers, heather flowers, hawthorn flowers, lady's bedstraw flowers, lemon balm, meadow sweet, mugwort leaves, peppermint leaves, red clover flowers, sweet cicely leaves, tansy, thyme leaves, water mint leaves, white clover, and wood sage leaves. The botanicals are macerated overnight in a grain-based spirit with Islay spring water, then distilled in a traditional copper pot still nicknamed "Ugly Betty."

The gin offers a smooth and balanced palate with clean botanical character, featuring prominent notes of juniper, lemon, orange, and floral and herbal undertones. The finish is elegant and lingering with gentle warmth. The Botanist has been rated one of the world's ten best gins by Gourmantic and called an "Oscar-worthy gin" by LA Weekly.
