Código 1530 Barrel Strength Añejo is a premium tequila made from 100% Blue Weber agave grown in Jalisco, Mexico. This limited release expression is aged for over two years in Napa Valley Cabernet French medium-toasted White Oak barrels and bottled at barrel strength — 88 proof (44% ABV) — rather than being diluted to the standard 80 proof.
The aroma opens with vanilla, toasted oak, light cinnamon, dried pears, and bananas. On the palate, delicate cooked agave is balanced with oak and a slight spice from the higher ABV, revealing notes of dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and salted caramel. The finish is lasting and slightly sweet.
Produced at the Varo Destilería in Amatitán, Jalisco (NOM 1616). 750ML bottle.
