Castello di Ama San Lorenzo is a Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG from the heart of Tuscany's Gaiole in Chianti. Named after the picturesque San Lorenzo valley, this wine is produced from the finest grapes grown in four historic estate vineyards: Bellavista, Casuccia, San Lorenzo, and Montebuoni, at elevations of 1,510 to 1,720 feet on clay and calcareous soils.

The blend is composed of 80% Sangiovese, 13% Merlot, and 7% Malvasia Nera, fermented with indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Each variety is vinified separately before blending and aging for 12 months in fine-grained barriques, 22% of which are new oak. The wine is 13.5% alcohol by volume.

Castello di Ama was founded in 1974 and is led by CEO Lorenza Sebasti with winemaker Marco Pallanti, who has served as technical director since 1982. The estate practices sustainable viticulture, certified by Equalitas Italy. The San Lorenzo bottling is known for its finesse, elegance, intensity, and remarkable aging potential, with tasting notes of dark cherry, blackberry, violet, licorice, leather, espresso, and graphite. This wine has received outstanding critical acclaim, including 99 points from James Suckling, 95 points from Wine Spectator, and 95 points from Wine Advocate.
