Gradis'ciutta Pinot Grigio is an organically certified white wine produced by the Gradis'ciutta estate in the Collio Goriziano DOC zone of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, northeastern Italy. The winery was founded in 1997 by Robert Princic, who studied oenology and viticulture before establishing the estate. Gradis'ciutta received official organic certification with its 2018 vintage, the culmination of a decade of sustainable, terroir-focused viticulture.
The wine is made from 100% Pinot Gris grapes grown on the distinctive clayey marl soils of the Collio hills, which give it a characteristic mineral character. After harvest, the grapes are soft-pressed and fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The wine is then aged on its lees (sur lie) until bottling, which adds texture and complexity. The resulting wine displays a brilliant straw-yellow color with copper-tinged reflections. The nose is delicate and elegant, offering aromas of tomato leaf, ripe peach, orchard apple, spring wildflowers, and flinty mineral notes. On the palate it is bright and savory, with ripe pear and yellow apple fruit underpinned by lively acidity and a clean mineral finish.
