Château Tanesse is a Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux rouge produced by Vignobles Gonfrier in Langoiran, France. The estate sits on a high hillock among sloping vineyards in the Entre-Deux-Mers region, overlooking Langoiran's 13th-century medieval castle with panoramic views stretching toward the Sauternais and Bordeaux along the Garonne River. The 30-hectare vineyard is planted on gravelly and clayey-gravelly slopes atop a calcareous subsoil, with vines averaging 25 years of age. This 3-liter double magnum format contains the equivalent of four standard bottles.
The blend is composed of 55% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Cabernet Franc, harvested mechanically and vinified with destemming, crushing, and fermentation in stainless-steel temperature-controlled tanks. Prolonged maceration extracts tannins of exceptional subtlety, and the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. The vineyard is certified HVE3 (High Environmental Value) and managed using sustainable viticulture practices with a CSR approach certified by Ecovadis.
Deep, very dark red in color, Château Tanesse offers complex ripe black fruit aromas with well-balanced woodiness. On the palate it is silky, mineral, and velvety with remarkable length. Recent vintages have earned scores of 90–92 points from Wine Enthusiast, James Suckling, and Jeb Dunnuck, and multiple medals including silver at the Concours des Vins de Bordeaux.
