Château Giscours is a Troisième Grand Cru Classé (Third Growth) red wine from the prestigious Margaux appellation in Bordeaux, France, classified in the historic 1855 Classification. This 3-liter double-magnum format presents the estate's flagship wine at an impressive scale, ideal for cellaring or special occasions.
The wine is a blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon alongside Merlot and Cabernet Franc, reflecting the classic Margaux profile. On the palate it is voluptuous and gourmet, distinguished by refined, silky tannins and a powerful yet charming character. Aromas of ripe blackberry, cassis, and dark fruit are complemented by notes of cedar and spice. The estate's technical team harvests Merlot for its roundness and gourmet style, while the Cabernets contribute structure, freshness, and density. Maceration is approached like a careful infusion to showcase the delicacy of the tannins, and the wine is aged in French oak barrels with approximately 50% new oak for 12 to 15 months.
Château Giscours is known for its extraordinary terroir in Labarde, Margaux, and has built a reputation for producing wines that are powerful and full-bodied while retaining beautiful aromatics and refined elegance. The 3L format offers excellent aging potential and is well-suited for long-term cellaring.
