Chateau des Jacques Moulin-à-Vent is a premier cru Beaujolais red wine from the Moulin-à-Vent appellation in France's Beaujolais region. Produced by the historic Chateau des Jacques estate — once a resting place along the pilgrims' route to Santiago de Compostela — this wine has been crafted under the stewardship of Maison Louis Jadot since 1996.
Made from 100% Gamay sourced from eight distinct sites within the Moulin-à-Vent AOC, the wine is aged in oak casks (50% new) for 10 months, lending it structure and complexity beyond typical Beaujolais. It reaches 13.5% ABV. Tasting notes reveal plum, black cherry, strawberry, and blood orange on the nose, with secondary layers of coffee, licorice, spice, and black tea. The palate is medium to full-bodied with supple tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, juicy finish. This bottling is largely derived from the renowned lieu-dit Rochegrès vineyard.
Critically acclaimed, the wine has received a 93-point score from James Suckling, 92 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, and 90 points from Wine Spectator. It is imported in the United States by Kobrand Corporation. The 750ML bottle pairs well with meat, fish, cheese, and vegetable dishes.
