The USPS Star Ribbon Forever Stamp features a digital illustration of a star made from a single red, white, and blue ribbon, designed to evoke the colors of the American flag and serve as a reminder that we are all connected through our sense of patriotism. Designer Aaron Draplin created the artwork by first hand-sketching the design and then rendering it digitally, working with USPS Art Director Greg Breeding on the final illustration.

This coil contains 10,000 self-adhesive Forever stamps, ideal for businesses and high-volume mailers. The stamps were printed by Banknote Corporation of America using offset printing with microprint and phosphor tagging. As Forever stamps, they retain their value for first-class postage regardless of future price increases.

The stamp was first issued on March 22, 2019, at the ASDA Midwest Postage Stamp Show in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois. The Star Ribbon design references a historical moment when the American flag was nicknamed the "Flower Flag" in 1784, after the merchant vessel Empress of China first displayed the Stars and Stripes in Canton, impressing locals with its beauty.
