La Luna Mezcal Tequilana is an artisanal mezcal produced in Michoacán, Mexico, crafted from Agave tequilana Weber — the same blue agave used to make tequila — but produced using traditional mezcal methods. This makes it a rare and distinctive expression, as Agave tequilana is seldom used for mezcal outside of the tequila-designated regions. The result is a joven (unaged) mezcal with a flavor profile that bridges the worlds of mezcal and tequila, typically offering bright agave-forward notes with earthy, herbaceous, and subtly smoky character.

La Luna is a project dedicated to preserving the diverse agave spirits of Michoacán, working with traditional producers to highlight indigenous agave varieties and artisanal production techniques. Their Tequilana expression showcases how terroir and production method can produce strikingly different results from the same agave species. Each 750ml bottle is produced in small batches, reflecting the handcrafted nature of the spirit.
