Guillaume Gonnet Belle Amie is a white wine from the prestigious Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation in the Southern Rhône Valley of France. Produced by Guillaume Gonnet, an independent vigneron who has managed his family's estate since 2006, this wine reflects a thoughtful approach to winemaking that blends traditional Southern Rhône sensibilities with insights gathered from winemaking regions around the world.
The wine is crafted from a blend of Roussanne, Grenache Blanc, and Clairette grapes, aged without oak in stainless steel to preserve freshness and aromatic purity. On the nose, it offers lychee, peach, citrus, and white floral notes with a stony, mineral character. The palate is fresh and crisp with a slight saline quality that lingers on the finish. Grapes are picked early in the harvest to ensure bright, lively acidity. With age, the wine can develop honey and nutty complexity. It carries 13.5% alcohol and contains sulfites.
Belle Amie pairs beautifully with seafood, roast chicken, rabbit, pork, and soft or blue cheeses such as Roquefort. The wine has earned a 4.1 rating from over 300 Vivino users, with the 2015 vintage considered the finest to date.
