Farmed U-8 White EZ Peel Shrimp, Per Lb

These farmed white shrimp are sold fresh by the pound at the Costco seafood counter. The U-8 designation means fewer than 8 shrimp per pound, placing them in the extra-colossal size category — among the largest shrimp available.

White shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) are prized for their mild, sweet flavor and firm texture. The EZ Peel preparation leaves the shell on but splits it along the back and removes the vein, making them fast to prep at home. The shells are left on during cooking to lock in moisture and enhance flavor, then simply slide off after.

These shrimp are raw and can be grilled, sautéed, steamed, or roasted. Their large size makes them well suited for grilling whole, skewering, or serving as a centerpiece shrimp cocktail.
