San Michele Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG is a distinguished Italian red wine from the Veneto region of northeastern Italy. Produced under the prestigious DOCG designation, this full-bodied Amarone is crafted from a traditional blend of Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes that are dried for approximately four months before fermentation — a centuries-old technique known as appassimento that concentrates sugars, flavors, and complexity.
The wine undergoes fermentation partly in steel and partly in oak vats, then matures for three years in oak barrels. The result is a deeply colored ruby-red wine with garnet reflections, offering intense aromas of aromatic spices, cherry jam, dried fruit, and red berries. On the palate, it is velvety, full-bodied, and richly structured with smooth tannins, flavors of dark fruit, chocolate, and dried herbs, and a long, luxurious finish. Alcohol content is approximately 16% vol.
Ideal for pairing with braised meats, rich stews, roasted or grilled game, aged and spicy cheeses, and Amarone-style risotto. It also serves beautifully as a meditation wine to be savored on its own. Available in a case of 6 bottles, each 750ml.
