A collection of upright-form Japanese Maple trees (Acer palmatum) offered in approximately 6-gallon containers, ready for planting in the landscape or in large decorative pots. Specific varieties in this assortment may include well-known cultivars such as Bloodgood, Sango Kaku (Coral Bark), Emperor I, or similar upright-growing selections, each chosen for their ornamental value and garden performance.
Upright Japanese Maples are celebrated for their multi-season beauty: delicate lobed foliage emerges in spring with vivid reds, greens, or coral tones; holds through summer with graceful texture; then transforms into brilliant shades of gold, orange, and crimson in the fall. These slow-to-moderate-growing trees typically reach 15–25 feet at maturity, making them ideal specimen trees, accent plantings, or focal points in mixed borders. Their naturally architectural branching structure provides winter interest even after the leaves have dropped.
Hardy in USDA zones 5–8, these trees thrive in well-drained, organically rich soil with a slightly acidic pH. They perform best in a location that offers morning sun with afternoon shade, particularly in warmer climates. Regular watering is important during the first two years while roots establish. Minimal pruning is required beyond removing any crossing or dead branches during winter dormancy. Upright Japanese Maples are also well-suited to growing as container specimens and make excellent companions for azaleas, rhododendrons, and other shade-loving plants.
