Chateau Latour-Martillac Pessac-Leognan Blanc is a prestigious white Bordeaux wine produced at one of Pessac-Leognan's most recognizable estates, named for the ancient tower that stands in front of the chateau. The property has been in the Kressmann family since the late 19th century, with roots tracing back to the 12th century. Sold in a case of six 750ml bottles, this wine is a benchmark expression of the Graves appellation within Bordeaux, France.
The wine is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, typically vinified and aged in French oak barrels, with the wine spending approximately 15 months on its lees before bottling. The result is a rich, medium- to full-bodied white wine with aromas of ripe lemon, honeyed grapefruit, yellow apple, white peach, and gooseberry, accented by chalky minerality, floral notes, and subtle toasty oak. On the palate it shows electric acidity with well-balanced citrus layers and a long, savory finish. It is a critically acclaimed wine with scores ranging from 91 to 95 points across major wine publications including Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Enthusiast, Wine Advocate, James Suckling, Wine Spectator, Vinous, and Decanter. This wine has outstanding aging potential of 15 or more years.
