Lindquist Family Syrah Central Coast is a Rhône-style red wine crafted by Bob Lindquist, founder of the celebrated Qupé winery and an original Rhône Ranger who has been making world-class Syrah in Santa Barbara County since 1982. Lindquist parted ways with Qupé in 2019 and has brought his decades of expertise to his own namesake label, continuing to pursue the benchmark California Syrah he has long been known for.

The wine is sourced primarily from Syrah grown at iconic Central Coast vineyards including Sawyer-Lindquist (farmed biodynamically), Bien Nacido, and Rancho Sisquoc, with small additions of Mourvèdre, Grenache, Tempranillo, and Graciano rounding out the blend. It is aged for 14 months in French oak with just 5% new wood to preserve varietal character while adding subtle structure. The wine registers 13.5% ABV and is sealed with a Stelvin closure.

In the glass it shows a vibrant ruby red with aromas of black pepper, lilac, and sun-kissed black fruit layered with generous spice. The palate delivers black cherry and mouthwatering acidity that leads to well-managed tannins and a long, persistent finish — an excellent homage to Northern Rhône-style Syrah with an unmistakable California stamp. Wine & Spirits has placed Lindquist Syrah on their Top 100 lists more than a dozen times. Best enjoyed now through 2030, and pairs beautifully with red meats, hard cheeses, and cured meats.
